The social video platform is doing so by implement Content Credentials , a engineering from the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity ( C2PA ) , which was co - founded by Microsoft and Adobe . Content Credentials attach specific metadata to content , which TikTok can then expend to right away spot and label AI - generated content .

As a result , TikTok will start automatically labeling AI - generated depicted object that is uploaded to the platform with Content Credentials bind . The alteration is rolling out on Thursday and will apply to all user globally in the come weeks .
