There ’s a lot to look forward to next yr . I expect to see much more onward motion from SpaceX on Starship , big changes to NASA under the leading of incoming administrator Jared Isaacman , Rocket Lab ’s Neutron debut , and bountiful missions for Impulse Space , Varda , and rafts of other startups . It will also be interesting to see if rumors prove true with Boeing selling off its space business . That would sincerely mark a new world order .

Late - stagecoach trade in space have been on the declination this twelvemonth , so it was exciting to see the declaration fromFleet Space Technologiesthat it had closed a $ 100 million Series D.   The Adelaide , Australia - base inauguration has developed a engineering science stack to enable mineral prospect from quad — and identifying critical mineral deposit will be key in a future that heavily relies on them ( i.e. identifying atomic number 3 for batteries ) .

This week in space history

Okay , we didThanksgiving in spacea few editions ago , so it only feels correct to take a spirit at how astronaut celebrate Christmas in place . The spaceman fleet has spent 18 consecutive years celebrating the holiday on the station , full with mini Christmas trees , Santa hats , stockings , and other decorations .
