Even before I set about using Chrome OS , itimpressed me with its featuresand browser app - based interface . Though it has circumscribed functionality , Chrome OS is extremely good at doing what I expect from a Windows laptop computer , which is surf , a few casual games , and a lot of YouTube . So I dedicate it a try & used it more than 1 month completely leaving Windows and using only the Chromebook as my main laptop computer gadget . Here are my persuasion .

Intuitive Interface

I noticed two thing after I started using it , one , it is really libertine . Faster than I expected and second , it is really intuitive , almost too sluttish to interpret . If you are used to Chrome browser app then you almost find like home using the Chromebook . In fact , all you need to do is access to your Google account and that ’s it . All the extensions , bookmarks , browse history , etc , sync automatically to the twist and are available at your fingertip , just like you would anticipate it on a connection web internet browser .

But there are even a few things I hat right from the starting day . I really missed the Alt+F4 shortcut to close apps . In fact , there is no other crosscut to close on the Chrome atomic number 76 . Every time you have to be using the trackpad , which is quite irritating . Anyhow the touchscreen ( if your Chromebook has one ) always come up in ready to hand to click that X release on the top . It would have been a dealbreaker for me if the Touchscreen functionality did n’t live on Chrome OS .

The Chromebook which I used ( ASUS Chromebook Flip C101PA ) sports a 10.1 - inch screen which is too compact for my liking . Anyhow that ’s a hardware thing than to do with Chrome OS .

Daily Grind with Chrome OS

My day - to - day employment is something like write articles , browsing the vane , catch videos , respond to subject matter on Slack , etc . As said , Chrome OS is exceedingly undecomposed at what I wanted . It is so efficient that I can even open up 20 – 30 tabs on chrome without breaking a sweat . For the price of this Chromebook , this is more than I really require for . Though there are a slew of feature missing , I will vote for efficiency more than the extra act of features any day .

After using it for the few days , I really want to give thanks Google for not let anyone expend custom cutis on Chrome OS like Android . Or else all my popular opinion on this would have been totally paired . Moreover , Google formally announce , they are going to support software updates for 8 Years , and Chromebooks also had a good name for last longer . These are extremely crucial thing to study while purchasing .

I do n’t really understand why most people do n’t sing about the Chromebook ’s keyboard , but that is something which I really loved . Replacing less utilitarian function keys with hotkeys like loudness and brightness controls , and replacing the capslock with hunting alternative is really good . There is not even a single Florida key that would be count useless . thumb up for that .

Chrome + Android = Best of both Worlds

As Chromebooks can now run Android and Linux apps , I can not just leave without talking about that . I do agree that these apps really improved the functionality of Chrome osmium and I can easy recover some Android app for every case of work . But it feels more like using an Android tablet with the keyboard more than Chromebook while using a few of the apps .

Some of them are not really optimized to act on the desktop layout and few of them do n’t even work properly with the touchpad . And there is no way you may find out which app body of work and which does n’t until you download on your own . Anyhow , Google generate you suggestion for apps to download on the principal pageboy of the Play Store . These apps are totally optimise and work on really smashing .

A Small tip:- If you are going to download the app that also has a web version , you’re able to turn that website into an app withAppcationize . It really work a lot better than the Android app you are going to download . Slack , Twitter , Google Keep , and Docs are some of the apps which I can recommend you with my personal experience .

Chromebook Keyboard

That does n’t mean the Android apps are not adept enough , they were capital and can even add additional benefits that can not be even possible on Windows .    In fact , now I can save movies and TV Shows for offline view on Netflix and Prime which is not possible with Windows .

“Dear ChromeBook Manufacturers,”

When there are smartphones that pack more than 512 GB of intimate storage , Most of the Chromebooks do n’t even have 256 GB store with the proficient specs combined . Do n’t get me wrong , I experience that Chromebooks are not plan for it . But after all the updates and support for Android and Linux apps , they unquestionably do merit more than that .

As I use both Android and Chromebook which are made by Google , I expected seamless sync between both devices which is sometimes also call an “ Ecosystem ” . Though there are few features , I cogitate there is a lot of elbow room for improvement by Google in this incision . I love that I can unlock my Chromebook using the fingerprint sensor on my earphone and can also browse by switch devices . But other than that , there is nothing more that you could do . I hope Google ’s Nearby Share can take it a dance step forward .

A Decent Alternative

As more powerful Chromebooks are recently do out , and as streaming services like Netflix and Stadia becoming democratic . I intend the hereafter of the Chromebook is secure .   If all you need is stuff like writing something , watching videos , messaging , hold back electronic mail , etc , Chromebook is a good lot , even better than Windows in some cases . It works a lot faster for that Leontyne Price and also we do n’t have to confront problems with driver , etc . But for anything more than that , Chrome OS can not replace your window .
