We often take for granted how food gets to the grocery store , but the process is n’t always straightforward .
That ’s whereLoadswants to come in . The Chilean ship’s company was founded in September 2022 by Larry Gil to bolster the food supplier internet across Latin America while also expanding its customer base in Asia and the United States .
Gil ’s family used to be in the importer business and he saw at first hand how ineffective it was , Gil tell TechCrunch .
“ A huge part of the manufacture was still analog and not optimized , ” he added . “ I decided to leave my premature job and see if I could make a Cartesian product that provided accession to food for thought in a better agency and fiscal handiness for importers . ”
What Gil , CEO , arrive up with was a way of life to streamline the importer cognitive operation so that food products are cater easily . Importers can then rat for point just as easily . The engineering great deal includes monitoring of year - one shot handiness of products , real - time purchase order tracking , transparent pricing , access to market data and financial product .
Now a year later , Loads is work with more than 700 importers and 300 provider . It has exported products to countries like Colombia , Ecuador , Panama , Costa Rica , India , Canada , Holland , Dubai and Taiwan . It also has Chile , Peru , Argentina , Poland , Portugal , Spain and China as providers .
The company offer over 15 products , including apples , grapes and kiwi , of which the sort give load more than 70 SKUs . Gil expect to commercialise 1.4 million kilograms of food for thought monthly through Loads ’ weapons platform by the first quarter of 2024 .

“ We set out from zero , so we ’ve had astronomic growth , ” Gil said . “ flop now , we have over $ 300,000 in pure merchandise bulk monthly , and we are confining to profitability , but we do n’t want to stop there . We want to spring up and achieve new geographies and continue our 27 % month over month emergence to finish out 2023 . ”
Investors like it , too . Nazca lead a round of $ 2.05 million into the company recently and was joined by Canary , Alaya Capital and a group of angel investors .
Gil intends to use the new funding to boom in its current market , including Brazil , Mexico and Argentina , while also expanding its customer cornerstone in Asia , Europe and the United States . Loads is also working on technology development , include work the chopine easygoing to use for customers .
“ We are tackling an industry where this way of doing things is unusual , and we want to change the purchase habits of suppliers , ” Gil said . “ We also wanted to turn our plant fintech capabilities through partnerships to aid clients get funding to go forward their own growth . ”
