On Monday , Microsoftreportedlyterminated the use of two software package engineers , Ibtihal Aboussad and Vaniya Agrawal , whoprotested the company ’s reported transaction with the Israeli militaryduring Microsoft ’s Copilot and 50th anniversary event last week .
According to an internal message look at by CNBC , Microsoft wrote that Aboussad could have evoke concerns “ confidentially with your manager , or with Global Employee Relations . Instead , you chose to by design disrupt the spoken language of Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman . ”
Last Friday , during the event , Aboussad shouted that Suleyman had “ ancestry on his helping hand , ” interrupting him while he pitch a keynote about new AI products . Later that twenty-four hour period , Agrawal interjected during a panel sport Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella , former chief operating officer Steve Ballmer , and founder Bill Gates , shouting “ disgrace on all of you … veer ties with Israel . ”
Shortly after the incidents , Aboussad sent an email to Microsoft staff and executives claiming the ship’s company had silenced sure dissenting employees , according to CNBC . The email reportedly control a link to a petition from “ No Azure for Apartheid , ” a radical of Microsoft staff member who have madeheadlines for their protest against the society ’s work with Israelin the past .
