Mortgage and loanword giant LoanDepot say Monday it is experiencing a cyberattack and that it ’s “ work diligently to restore normal business operations as promptly as possible . ”
The Irvine , California - free-base company say ina abbreviated statement on its cybersecurity incident pagethat it has “ involve certain system offline ” and is “ working rapidly to understand the extent of the incident and taking steps to understate its impact . ”
LoanDepot confirmed the cyberattack ina filing with federal regulators , describing the incident as involving the “ encoding of information , ” implying a ransomware approach .
“ In response , the company shut down sure systems and continues to follow through measure to stop up its business operations , bring systems back online and react to the incident , ” the regulative filing read .
