Volkswagen ’s software unit Cariad will delay the launching of its new software system architecture yet again as it deals with a large cycle of layoff .

Just three years after VW created Cariad , and only six months afteran executive shakeup , the unit has plan to cut 2,000 Job , German publicationManager Magazinreported over the weekend . The layoffs will further delay the launching of VW ’s software computer architecture 1.2 by 16 to 18 months .

The software 1.2 . political platform , which is being developed for thePorsche Macan EVand theAudi Q6 E - Tron , was in the beginning schedule for completion in 2022 . Cariad pushed the release date to the terminal of 2023 to be ready for 2024 VW models when Peter Bosch take over in May . Now , it looks like the software system 1.2 platform wo n’t be in cars until at least 2025 .

On Monday , Porsche indicate that it would n’t waitress around for version 1.2 constantly .
