Jeff Bezos ’ arugula company , Blue Origin , announce the crew for its next mission on Thursday , which can only mean one thing : more random plenteous hoi polloi are going to space .

The work party most notably includes pop whizz Katy Perry and broadcast diary keeper Gayle King . They will be link by two scientists — Aisha Bowe and Amanda Nguyen — as well as television personality Lauren Sánchez ( Jeff Bezos ’ fiancée ) and picture producer Kerianne Flynn .

Blue Origin enjoin this marks the first all - distaff infinite crew since Soviet spaceman Valentina Tereshkova ’s 1963 solo mission , which made her the first woman ever to go to space . For the company’sNew Shepardrocket , this is its 31st tripper to space , and its 11th with a crew .
