American consumer will spend a record - breaking $ 537 billion on new apps , machine , and gadgets in 2025 , according tothe new one - yr forecastfrom the Consumer Technology Association .
But there ’s a match , warned the CTA ’s futurist Brian Comiskey onstage Monday at the group ’s enormousCES 2025 in Las Vegas : Trump ’s offer tariff plans , which would levy toll for U.S. consumers , could squeeze a lot of that outlay .
The CTA “ is jut out that there will be record retail taxation ” for the U.S. consumer technology industry in 2025 with 3.2 % increment over 2024 .
