Three years after a hacker first twit an aver massive theft ofAT&Tcustomer data , a break seller this hebdomad coldcock the full dataset online . It contains the personal info of some 73 million AT&T client .
A young analysis of the amply leaked dataset — containing name , home computer address , earpiece numbers , Social Security number , and dates of birth — points to the data being authentic . Some AT&T client have confirm their leak out customer data is exact . But AT&T still has n’t say how its client ’ data spilled online .
The hacker , who first claimed in August 2021 to have stolen millions of AT&T customers ’ data , only put out a small sampling of the leaked records at the sentence , constitute it difficult to swear its legitimacy .

As Hunt tone , the source of the breach remains inconclusive . And it ’s not clear if AT&T even know where the information come from . Hunt said it ’s plausible that the data originated either from AT&T or “ a third - political party central processor they use or from another entity in all that ’s entirely unrelated . ”
What is clear is that even three years afterward , we ’re still no closer to solving this mystery story breach , nor can AT&T say how its client ’ data terminate up online .
